We present KALEIDO, the trophy of the PRIX FORMES DE LUXE 2025
“Salinas Packaging Group has taken on the challenge of transforming packaging into a symbol of recognition, a chest that pays tribute to the excellence of packaging design.”
The word “kaleido” comes from classical Greek.
Etymological breakdown:
- Kalos (καλός):
- Eidos (εἶδος):form, aspect, figure.
- Skopein (σκοπεῖν):to look, observe, examine.
Hence, kaleidoscope = “to look at beautiful, changing forms in motion.”
How have we expressed all this?
- Geometry → Architecture → read as a building, a totem or a tower.
- Shiny copper → Beacon → it illuminates, guides, sparks curiosity.
- Leather → Craftsmanship → the human, the sensory, the tactile.
- Weight → Imagined reality → a fictional object that feels real.
- Kaleidoscopic interior → Hidden soul → the promise of infinite possibilities inside.
This packaging-trophy was conceived as both a tribute and a design challenge: to transform the container into content, to make the package an object in itself, a package that rewards other packages.
The concept combines geometry, architecture and craftsmanship. Its faceted surfaces recall natural patterns — fractals, crystals, honeycombs — reinterpreted with a contemporary approach.
The copper stamping acts like a beacon, reflecting light and guiding the eye toward the interior, where a true kaleidoscope hides, a metaphor for diversity and creativity.
The package has been given weight to convey solidity, simulating the presence of an imaginary product.
It is a trophy, but also a tribute to the craft: to those who give the product a second skin, to those inspired by nature to innovate, to those who put their intelligence at the service of design, and to those capable of looking again and again in different ways.
In terms of sustainability, the project aligns with its message. It is made with 90% recycled materials, demonstrating that innovation and environmental responsibility can coexist without sacrificing aesthetic excellence. Moreover, its lasting character avoids the “use and discard” cycle, positioning the packaging as a collectible piece.
The result is an object that transcends its original function: a package turned trophy and industrial icon, celebrating creativity, technique, and the power of design to inspire an entire industry.
“A packaging that is a trophy. A trophy that rewards packaging.”
